St George Illawarra Dragons hooker Mitch Rein is jubilant to be in his fourth pre-season with the Red-and-Whites and is feeling the effects of the intense training.

The Kiama Knights junior is unsure whether he will be chosen to play the full eighty minutes but is certain that preseason will prepare him for the impending 2014 season.

The 23-year-old has been with the Red V since his time with the National Youth Competition side and is aware of the similarities between himself and up-and-coming player Craig Garvey.

So far preseason has been enjoyable, said Rein.

My body is pretty sore, but everyones expected to be sore for the first couple of weeks because its a big shock to the system.

Its my fourth preseason as a first grader; I dont know what happened to my youth, but its been a really good experience and Im really looking forward to learning a lot more from the coaching staff this year.

Im not too sure whether Ill playing the full eighty minutes; thats for the coaching staff to decide, but there are a few other players, like Craig Garvey coming up from the Under 20s, that could be put into that utility role.

Im looking forward to helping Craig build as a player, but he is a good player with a lot of natural ability and Im sure hell be fine.
