St George Illawarra Dragons halfback Michael Witt is full of confidence ahead of facing the Melbourne Storm at AAMI Park, Melbourne on Monday.

The Newtown Lions junior was sidelined with a shoulder injury following the first round of the 2014 season but was eased back into the game paling with the Illawarra Cutters.

The 30-year-old understands they have a less than spectacular record against the Melbourne side but believes the fresh faces in the Red-and-Whites will prove the difference.

“I’m confident to come back into the first-grade side after getting a full game under my belt,” said Witt.

“Playing in the Cutters has given me confidence; my shoulder feels strong and I feel good.

“I think it’s very important to continue to link up with Widdop while I’m out there; stability in a team is great.

“I need to go out there and perform well with Gareth and hopefully get some consistency within the team.

“It’s always a tough task in Melbourne and the Dragons don’t have the best record facing the Storm at home.

“We go down there with a lot of fresh faces and a lot of confidence; we’re looking to put in a good performance.

“We need to get back to what we know, we’ve shown that what we’ve been doing works in the first three rounds so we need to get it back on track.

“We want to play an up tempo, solid game and get out there and fire some shots; we need to take them on.
