The St George Illawarra Dragons proudly launched their first “Dragons Active Clinic” which took place at Kogarah on Wednesday.
The Dragons hosted over 70 children in the three-hour clinic which incorporated a tour of the Dragons sheds to start the day before rolling into loads of Rugby League skills in a safe and enjoyable environment supervised by NRL Development staff.
Dragons players Gerard Beale, Josh Dugan, Jason Nightingale, Tyson Frizell, Kyle Stanley, Yaw Kiti Glymin and Nathan Green were also on hand during the clinic to lend their help at a variety of skill stations as well as taking some time to sign autographs and pose for a few photos with the lucky participants.
One Mother commented to staff on the day “Hats off to the Dragons for a spectacular and memorable day.”
With one clinic still to come in Wollongong there is still time to be part of this great event with prices ranging between $15 and $65 dollars per child.
As part of the day each child will also be given the opportunity to become Red V members as part of the Kogarah and Wollongong clinics as well as going home with Dragons and NRL footballs and goodies at all three clinics
“Our Dragons Active Holiday programs have been created to suit children of all ages and experience levels and provides a fun and active outing for the kids while on holidays,” said Dragons Community Manager Paul Everill.
Team sports and group activities during the holiday break provide an important outlet for children to be active and can also help with vital life lessons in personal values, teamwork and relationship building skills.
