The St George Illawarra Dragons proudly launched their very own school diary ‘The Best You Can Be’ at Keiraville Public School on Thursday.
Dragons trio Ben Creagh, Gareth Widdop and Jack de Belin were on hand to reinforce the message within the resource aimed at encouraging youth to make positive choices around health, education and social issues
The Dragons are fully aware how sport can be very effective in achieving social change, especially in youth.
Dragons players in particular understand that they are in a unique position whereby they can promote and encourage, either directly or indirectly, the physical, cultural and intellectual welfare of young people in our community.
The Dragons trio provided examples from their own lives to the students and fielded the many questions directed at them about how to live positive lives.
The Dragons school diary ‘The Best You Can Be’ is a resource which has a weekly focus and a tip for all children to follow.
Focus topics within the resource include the importance of sleep, nutrition, hydration, being sun smart, respect, kindness, screen time, positivity and fresh air fun as well as the negative impacts of bullying and harassment.
Furthermore, Dragons players including captain Ben Creagh and Benji Marshall also provide comments of encouragement throughout the diary too.
Additionally, Dragons players also draw from their own lives to provide motivation for all children to be the best they can be in all aspects of their life.
The Dragons school diary ‘The Best You Can Be’! retails for $6.00 and can be purchased either via the Dragons Team Store (Phone: 02 9597 1966) or through R.I.C. Publications Online Store!
