The St George Illawarra Dragons Community department in conjunction with the NRL Development team have wrapped up a series of successful Gala Days in the South Coast and Illawarra regions throughout Term One.

A total of 2230 students in years 3-6, from 47 different schools contested the Rod Wishart and Paul McGregor Shield as part of the Legends Days.

The nine days saw a total of 213 teams compete for spots in the Regional Final, to be held on Thursday, May 7.

Eighty-seven teams made up of 1489 high school students from 40 schools across the region also took part in the Shaun Timmins Shield and Country Cup Days, as well as the U14 Steelers Shield and League Tag Day.

The Dragons Community and NRL Development team would like to thank the 87 schools and almost 3750 students who participated in the Gala Days throughout Term One, and contributed to their success.
