The St George Illawarra Dragons have today announced specific details on the formation of a “Members Advisory Forum”, to work with the Club and NRL in relation to all Member and Fan Experience activities at the Dragons.
The Club is seeking 16 enthusiastic Red V Members, a cross section of all Membership categories, with a keen interest and passion to help improve and grow the Club’s Membership program with the first meeting planned in conjunction with the Dragons Round 13 match on June 8, 2015.
“We know that we have the most passionate supporters in Rugby League, we also know that we have hundreds of thousands of fans who are not, as yet Members, and we want to build the biggest and best Membership program in the NRL,” said Dragons CEO Peter Doust.
“Our Members are a significant and valued part of our team and organisation. Red V Membership contributions go directly towards supporting our on-field ambitions and there is nothing better for our players than having a sea of red and white supporting the team at our games”.
In 2014 the Dragons began working with the NRL and the ASPIRE Group, a Global Sport and Entertainment Consultancy Group, on a specific Membership and Fan Engagement Project and the Members Advisory Forum establishment will play a key outcome in relation to the shape and future direction of Membership at the Dragons.
“Our Strategic Business Plan developed for 2013-2017 identified Membership and Fan Engagement as a priority area of focus, especially in the context of the ‘Right Game Right Venue ‘ Strategy, and is key to the long-term future and success of the Club.
“We have worked closely with the ASPIRE Group who have a wealth of experience and expertise across the global sporting landscape to assist with the development a clear road map to achieve our Membership objectives,” added Doust.
Interested, financial 2015 Members are asked to self-nominate to be part of the inaugural Members Advisory Forum, with the Dragons and NRL selecting the Members based on their nomination with a view to ensuring variety and balance across all Membership Categories, that is:
- Non-ticketed (True Believers – Sydney, NSW Country and Interstate)
- Kogarah Pass – Jubilee Only
- Kogarah Upgrade – Jubilee + Major Venues (Home Games)
- Wollongong Pass – WIN Stadium Only
- Wollongong Upgrade – WIN Stadium - Major Venues (Home Games)
- Heartland Pass – WIN Stadium + Jubilee
- West Wing – ANZ Stadium (Home & Reciprocal)
- Metro Pass – Jubilee + Major Venues (Home & Reciprocal)
- Dragons Dozen – WIN Stadium + Jubilee + Major Venue (Home Games)
- All – In – WIN Stadium + Jubilee + Major Venue (Home & Reciprocal)
- Platinum – WIN Stadium + Jubilee + Major Venue (Home & Reciprocal)
“We need to make sure that we are hearing and considering the views of Members across all areas and categories,” said Doust. “We want first year Members, long-term Members, males, females, students, grandparents, locals and those who support us from interstate - a good mix and balance that is representative of our entire Member and supporter base”.
The Members Advisory Group is designed as an interactive Forum that will participate in two face-to-face meetings a year with Dragons and NRL Management to discuss relevant issues and topics. Other Communication opportunities will also be provided throughout the year.
The initial meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 8 at ANZ Stadium ahead of the Round 13 match against the Canterbury Bulldogs on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
The agenda for discussion at this initial meeting will include items from the Dragons, NRL and ASPIRE Group as well as suggestions and feedback obtained through the nomination process.
Red V Members who are not part of the Members Advisory Forum will be provided with updates from all meetings and will be provided with various other methods to provide input, seek answers, or to access Dragons Management, via the Dragons Den Member benefit (click here) or by emailing the Red V Membership Team at redv@dragons.com.au.
The Club will also be running two events in 2015 specifically related to Football and Recruitment, the details and dates for these are in the process of being finalised and will be communicated in the coming weeks.
A Digital Survey for all Red V Members to complete is also being planned for the near future.
