The St George Illawarra Dragons are deeply saddened at the passing of former player Grahame Buckley, on Thursday.

The local St George-native, who could player in the second-row or as lock-forward, passed away after suffering a heart attack aged 58.

Buckley made his first-grade debut for the St George Dragons during the 1978 season and made 55 appearances in total over a span of seven seasons including being involved in the Club’s 1979 Premiership campaign.

He later joined the Illawarra Steelers where he made a solitary appearance during the 1986 season.
