St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team Head Coach Mat Head has backed his players to bounce back against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium, Olympic Park on Friday.
The Young Dragons impressive undefeated streak of ten games came to an end following a comprehensive 36-16 loss to Wests Tigers last round.

However, Head notes that while the result is disappointing, he is now keen to see how the players respond to the setback in training and on the field this week.
The Young Dragons were 30-28 winners against their upcoming opponents the last time both teams crossed paths and Head expects a physical encounter this time around.
“We came up against a really good Tigers team and we were expecting just that in the week leading in,” said Head.
“We were under pressure for the first 40 minutes and thought we hung in there really well and while we got in front later on but it was not meant to be.
“We were undefeated for a long duration so the exciting thing now is to see how the players respond coming off this loss.
“We have a short turnaround and I’m looking forward to us going up against the Bulldogs.

“They really bashed us up the last time we played them and completed at a hundred percent for the entire game which is unheard of.
“However, we found a way to win and were excited from that victory.
“They will be coming hard at us while we need to get back on that winning run.”
