St George Illawarra Dragons playmaker Jai Field has described his maiden voyage into first grade football at the Auckland Nines as a "dream come true".
Field is currently competing alongside Josh McCrone, Kurt Mann and Shaun Nona for the Dragons' No. 7 jumper following Drew Hutchison's unfortunate season-ending knee injury.
The Shellharbour Sharks junior also spoke of how he is preparing for the defensive aspects he'll have to confront over the coming season.
