St George Illawarra coach Anthony Griffin has finalised his team for the Dragons' annual Charity Shield pre-season clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Mudgee's Glen Willow Stadium on Saturday, February 26 (7pm).

The team is as per selected on Tuesday. Aaron Woods, and Jaydn Su'A will don the Red V for the first time in the Central West of New South Wales while Zac Lomax, captain Ben Hunt, Blake Lawrie, Jack Bird and Jack de Belin all get their first taste of football for season 2022.

Moses Mbye (quad) and Tariq Sims (calf) have been ruled out with minor complaints. They are expected to be available for Round 1 selection. Jayden Sullivan (hamstring) and Billy Burns (foot) remain in the casualty ward alongside Max Feagai (ankle/leg).

This weekend will act as the 39th rendition of the traditional Charity Shield fixture against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The Charity Shield is proudly supported by Mid-Western Regional Council, with proceeds from the match going to the St George Foundation, St George and Wollongong Public Hospitals and in the Rabbitohs' case, Souths Cares.

Tickets for the game are available from 123tix.com.au, with the Mudgee faithful also set to get a taste of Knock On Effect Cup trial action from 4:30pm.

The Dragons will wear their 2022 captain's run jersey in the Charity Shield; a jersey that showcases every player's name to have featured for St George Illawarra since the club's inception.
