St George Illawarra held their annual 'Kids Big Day Out' at the Dragons' recent Gold Coast Titans double header at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday, August 21.
This is the ninth year the Dragons have held the 'Kids Big Day Out'. This year the club was joined by 180 children and families from Havenlee Special School, South Coast Autistics School (ASPECT), The Disability Trust and 3 Bridges Community (Arrowsmith Program).
Children and their families were treated to tickets to the game, face painting, music, stacks of food and drinks as well as a chance to get up close with some reptiles.
Dragons Community manager Adam Bezzina said: "This event wouldn't happen without the wonderful ongoing support from The Bevelise Family Trust.
"The 'Kids Big Day Out' provides families and opportunity to attend a live NRL match, which they otherwise would not be able to do.
"The room is set up for fun but also an area that families can access to assist in helping our guests desensitise and regulate, particularly those with autism.
"Our club takes great pride in hosting this event and are working hard behind the scenes to have sensory zones at all our venues in the near future so more families can attend the footy on a regular basis."
