The Dragons Community team has been busy recently with plenty of activities across our community. Take a look back at what's been happening.
Term four is Dragon Tag season, and students from all over our catchment have taken part in a combined 16 events run in conjunction with NRL Development. Most recently participants from the Illawarra Catholic Schools headed to Reed Park Dapto for their annual Gala Day. The day saw over 800 children from 81 teams take part in the showcase.
The St George Illawarra Dragons recently completed a visit along the South Coast, delivering the ‘The Best You Can Be’ Health and Wellbeing program.
NRLW young gun and Milton Ulladulla Bulldogs junior, Keele Browne accompanied community staff on the recent visit to Sunshine Bay Public School, Batemans Bay Public School, and Mogo Public School to help deliver wellbeing messages with a particular focus on resilience, nutrition, and hydration.
The visit followed on from a 2-day trip, delivering the program to the Far South Coast.
In addition, St George Illawarra Dragons Players Jack Bird, Zane Musgrove, and Moses Mbye have been supporting the community through several engagements.
Jack Bird made a special visit to Warrawong Public School recently as a part of the schools ‘Mob’ Class Program. The program focuses on Year 6 Indigenous Students, who learn about their culture and identity.
Zane Musgrove attended Rockdale PCYC to support and promote the organisations ‘Fit For Life’ program that is designed to engage youth aged 10-17 who are at risk of poor choices and anti-social behaviour.
Moses Mbye, most recently, participated in a Zoom session with students from Eugowra Public School and St Joseph’s Eugowra, with students currently learning under the one roof as the area recovers from the recent, devastating floods.
