Hunt’s 300th: Skipper reaches major milestone
Dragons skipper Ben Hunt will be appearing in his 300th NRL game when he leads the side out on Saturday evening in Townsville.
Hunt made his NRL debut as a 19-year-old halfback for the Broncos back in 2009 and spent nine seasons with the club before making a high-profile switch to the Dragons prior to the 2018 season.
Now 33, Hunt has made 14 appearances for the Maroons at State of Origin level and six appearances for the Kangaroos at international level.
Last year, he became the 27th player in St George Illawarra history to play 100 games for the club.

Staying firm
Head coach Anthony Griffin has named the same 17 that went down 18-16 to the Wests Tigers at Magic Round in Brisbane last weekend.
Ben Hunt has been named to start at halfback with Moses Mbye at hooker and Jayden Sullivan on the interchange after Griffin opted to rotate the trio last weekend.
Hooker Jacob Liddle and rookie Toby Couchman have both been named among the reserves.
Cowboys looking to build on Roosters scalp
Head coach Todd Payten has not made any changes to the 17 that upset the Roosters in a soppy, Sunday afternoon affair at Suncorp Stadium last week.
North Queensland will still be without star forwards Jason Taumalolo and Jeremiah Nanai due to injury.
Jamayne Taunoa-Brown is free to play for the hosts after copping a fine for a high shot on Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.
Dragons back in Townsville
St George Illawarra’s Queensland-based supporters will have another opportunity to catch the side live – this time at Townsville’s Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
The Dragons have met the Cowboys three times at the newly-built stadium, winning once.
Red V members based in Townsville will also have the opportunity to meet the squad! Look here for more information.
Sullivan looking to impress
Rising Dragons playmaker Jayden Sullivan remains in the side following an exciting, two-try effort in the side’s Magic Round loss.
Sullivan was inserted into the game midway through the first half and made an immediate impact crossing for his first try of the afternoon less than 10 minutes into his stint.
His 54th-minute try and subsequent conversion gave the Dragons a lead which they were unfortunately unable to hold onto.
