NSW Cup Rd 4 Highlights: Dragons vs Sea Eagles

JERSEY FLEGG CUP

The club's Jersey Flegg outfit managed their third win from their opening four warding off a Sea Eagles fightback to come away with a 30-28 victory at Gerringong's Michael Cronin Oval on Saturday.

It took just five minutes for the visitors to open the scoring through winger Charlie Thompson before the Dragons found a response through captain Kyan Hjaltason.

Late inclusion Ethan Cliff extended the Dragons lead soon after before Ben Rumble injected himself into the equation.

Fresh off a four-try explosion in his season debut, the classy fullback found his first try of the game 26 minutes in before backing it up with a second just shy of the break.

A try to Sea Eagles winger Una Uasi in between Rumble's double meant that the Red V took a 22-8 win into the sheds.

The visitors came out of halftime rolling notching a trio of tries in the space of eight minutes to tie things up after a strong Dragons opening.

A 52nd-minute Taulauniuotagaloa Mariota sin bin paved the way for the hosts to surge back into the contest through Cliff's second off the following set which put them back up by four.

The Sea Eagles refused to yield however with front rower Devante Mihinui powering his way over 62 minutes in to put the visitors ahead by two.

It was Dragons winger Cain Barnes who came up with the match-winning try with less than three minutes to play to seal a key home win.
