KNOCK-ON EFFECT NSW CUP

The Dragons pulled off a key 34-24 win over the Jets in warm conditions at Collegians on Saturday.

The win sees them remain within one competition point of the Top 5 with one match to play.

They face the Eels at CommBank Stadium next Saturday with the fifth-place Panthers taking on the Rabbitohs on Friday evening.

Ashton Ward managed a try and a try assist in his Knock-On Effect NSW Cup debut as the Red V knocked off a strong Jets outfit.

JERSEY FLEGG CUP

The Dragons went down to the Sharks 54-10 in their Jersey Flegg clash at Collegians on Saturday.

The loss unfortunately sees the squad's finals chances dashed with one match to play.

Aaron Hertsch's men found themselves within a single try just moments short of the break before a Sharks avalanche ensued.

HARVEY NORMAN NSW WOMEN'S PREMIERSHIP

The Dragons were unable to chase down the Central Coast Roosters at Hurstville Oval on Saturday going down 26-20.

The visitors raced away to an early lead courtesy of tries to Eliza Lopamaua and Tyra Ekepati.

Tashjan Managreve came up with an answer for the Red V a little over a quarter of the way into proceedings.

Lopamaua snagged her second a half-hour in before Katelyn Whitehead struck on the stroke of half-time to make it 22-4.

Danielle Close found her way over on the other side of the break to spark a Dragons fightback.

Katrina Phippen followed her effort moments later before Jaimee-Lee Cotter crossed to make it a trio of Dragons four-pointers in the space of nine minutes and bring her side back within two.

Whitehead found another however an hour in as the Roosters managed to hold off the hosts' second-half surge.

The Steelers added another win to their tally on Saturday afternoon at Collegians downing the Bulldogs 30-4 behind an Indie Bostock double.

Sophie Clancy burrowed her way over 11 minutes in for the hosts before Tori Shipton found a four-pointer moments before half-time to give the Steelers a 12-point edge.

Litia Fusi nabbed the Bulldogs' first points of the contest 48 minutes in before the tide turned firmly the way of the Steelers.

Bostock scored two tries in 10 minutes before Mia Walsh crossed for a late try to put the icing on a strong victory for the home side.

Tayleah Handcock slotted all five of her conversion attempts as the Steelers raced out to their sixth win of the year.
