HARVEY NORMAN NSW WOMEN'S PREMIERSHIP

The Steelers came out on top in the derby on Saturday taking down the Dragons 40-6 at Helensburgh's Rex Jackson Oval.

The win sees the Steelers lock down the second spot on the competition ladder a week out from the postseason.

The hosts got off to a rapid start with Kaarla Cowan powering her way over just two minutes in before Zali Yeo and Sienna Yeo found tries shortly after to make it 18-0 less than 13 minutes in.

Kiara Kostovski nabbed the Steelers' fourth try of the opening stanza just shy of the half-hour mark to give them a 22-point advantage.

Zali Yeo snagged a second on the other side of the half before Jaimee-Lee Cotter got the Dragons on the board.

Sophie Clancy muscled her way over 53 minutes in with Kostovski notching her second of the encounter late to put a bow on a comprehensive Steelers win.
