Dragons to host Bulldogs in 2025 Season opener

St George Illawarra Dragons will open their 2025 NRL Premiership campaign with a mouthwatering Round 1 clash against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs on Saturday, March 8 (5:30PM AEDT).

A sell-out crowd is expected for the opening fixture after the the club's recent meeting with the Bulldogs held at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, Kogarah in August was sold out days before kick-off.

Dragons fans across the St George and Illawarra region are full of optimism heading into the new year with recent signings headed by Clint Gutherson, Damien Cook and Valentine Holmes bolstering a new-look squad.

Flanagan: 'We can start at another level'

Head Coach Shane Flanagan spoke to media on Friday highlighting the influence and positive impact his new recruits will have on the squad, in particular Gutherson.

"We all know what he does on the weekend, but I know what I needed Monday to Friday, and I need Clint Gutherson and I needed Damien Cook for Monday to Friday business,” Flanagan said.

Earlier this morning, the NRL revealed the 2025 Telstra Premiership Round 1 fixtures, with a double header to take place in Las Vegas.
