The Dragons today held the club's annual Golf Day in Memory of Robert Stone at Beverley Park Golf Club.
Players, coaches, and staff had the opportunity to have a hit and mingle with the club's corporate partners in another successful staging of the event.
Stone played 170 first grade games for the St George Dragons from 1975 to 1985 and was a key member of the club's 1977 and 1979 premiership-winning sides.
Following his playing career, he became an executive officer at the Dragons and was a driving factor in the club's return to Jubilee Oval.
He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July of 2005 and sadly passed away the following month aged just 49.
Now in its 18th year, the day has become one of the most important events on the club's calendar and offers all involved an opportunity to share a laugh, play some golf, and remember the late Robert Stone.
A $30,000 cheque was also presented on behalf of St George Leagues Club and St George District to St George Hospital through Hands of Hope.
Hands of Hope strives to be that hand of support to the many who are faced with difficult times in their life physically or mentally.
Hands of Hope is a community-based group with a genuine commitment to supporting others in need through donations to hospitals and rehabilitation centres.
Damien Cook, Clint Gutherson, Jacob Liddle and Tom Eisenhuth joined emcee Jeremy Latimore on stage for a chat to round out proceedings.
