NRL PRE-SEASON CHALLENGE: THE SITUATION

A strong win over the Roosters at Kogarah has put the Red V in good stead heading into their second Pre-Season Challenge match-up.

Shane Flanagan's men secured 14 of a potential 15 competition points in their victory over the Roosters.

Only the Broncos managed the full 15 points with the Dolphins, Eels, and Sea Eagles also sitting on 14. Check out the full ladder here.

A win nets a team 12 points with a draw resulting in six and a loss zero.

Teams can also earn the following bonus points:

  • 1 point for scoring five or more tries
  • 1 point for making five or more line breaks
  • 1 point for throwing 10 or more offloads

As a result, teams can accrue a maximum of 15 points in a win, nine in a draw, or three in a loss.

Points differential will be used in a tiebreaker should multiple sides finish on the same points tally after two matches.

The Dragons points differential (+18) trails the Broncos (+38), Dolphins (+42), and Eels (+26) but sits above the Sea Eagles (+10).

The team who wins the NRL Pre-Season Challenge will take home $100,000.
