EGAN TO DEBUT

Gerringong Lions junior and Dragons Academy graduate Dylan Egan has been named to make his NRL debut off the interchange.

Egan has progressed through the club's pathways system having played two seasons of Harold Matthews Cup and two seasons of SG Ball with Illawarra.

He was the captain of Illawarra's SG Ball outfit in 2023 and made the leap up to Jersey Flegg and Knock-On Effect NSW Cup later that year.

In 2024, the 20-year-old played in 1,871 of a possible 1,920 minutes at Knock-On Effect NSW Cup level making 849 tackles – the highest among all Dragons and third in the competition – at near 96 per cent efficiency whilst tallying 11 line breaks and 45 tackle breaks.

His debut coincides with news that he has extended his stay at the club by an extra two seasons.

RAISING MONEY FOR SPORTING CHANCE

For every ticket sold to this Saturday's clash, the Dragons will be donating $1.00 to the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation.

Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation was formed in 1996 by several athletes including the likes of former Australian Cricket Captain Mark Taylor and Dragons Immortal Reg Gasnier.

They are a non-for-profit organisation committed to financially supporting mobile home care units that help make life easier for children with cancer and outreach programs for kids with cancer from regional areas.

The Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation currently provides just under $1 million each year across Australia, so that major children’s hospitals can employ a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to operate outreach programs for kids with cancer allowing them to stay for as long as possible in the comfort of their own homes and to keep disruption to the family everyday life to a minimum.

Sporting Chance funds four nurses in NSW as well as one in Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia (who also covers the Northern Territory).
