It proved a mixed day for the Steelers at Collegians on Sunday with the Tarsha Gale Cup squad kicking the day off with a superb win before disappointing results at Harold Matthews Cup and SG Ball Cup level.

TARSHA GALE CUP

The Steelers enjoyed a dominant outing against Penrith running away with a 32-4 victory on their home turf.

Forward trio Trinity Tauaneai, Seriah Palepale, and Siu Richter were dominant for Illawarra as Courtney Crawford's squad steamrolled to a Preliminary Final berth.

The Steelers will enjoy a week off before facing the winner of the Wests Tigers and Roosters clash next week.

HAROLD MATTHEWS CUP

A Creighton Meafou double was not enough to drag the Steelers past Newcastle with the visitors notching a 28-12 victory.

Repeated errors and ill-discipline cost the minor premiers dearly as they left points on the table on multiple occasions.

The Steelers will get a second chance however against the Rabbitohs in a do-or-die Semi Final next week.
