A Gerringong Lions junior, Egan has progressed through the club's pathways system having played two seasons of Harold Matthews Cup and two seasons of SG Ball with the Steelers.
He was the captain of the Steelers SG Ball Cup outfit in 2023 and made the leap up to Jersey Flegg Cup level later in the season.
He went on to make half-a-dozen Knock-On Effect NSW Cup appearances before his season was cut short due to injury.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a standout Knock-On Effect NSW Cup campaign in 2024 appearing in all 24 games scoring seven tries.
He played in 1,871 of a possible 1,920 minutes making 849 tackles – the highest among all Dragons and third in the competition – at near 96 per cent efficiency whilst tallying 11 line breaks and 45 tackle breaks.
Egan moves into the club’s NRL squad for 2025 having spent the 2024 season on a development deal.
