A native of Wallan in country Victoria, Finau played his juniors with the Sunbury Tigers before progressing through the Storm system and eventually making his way to the Brisbane Tigers.
Alongside older brother Haele, Finau made the move to the Red V prior to the 2023 season.
Finau was rewarded with an NRL debut in Round 26, 2023 after a stellar Knock-On Effect NSW Cup season in which he scored 14 tries from 22 appearances and averaged 131 run metres.
He backed the effort up with a 2024 Knock-On Effect NSW Cup campaign in which he scored 13 tries from 15 outings and averaged 141 run metres whilst earning another NRL call-up in the side’s Round 13 win over the Panthers.
The 22-year-old is under contract until at the Dragons until least the end of the 2025 season.
